Southampton are plotting to land Arsenal youngster Kieran Gibbs on loan in order to fast-track the winger's development. The 16-year-old wide player has already earned rave reviews at reserve team level b, triggering interest from several clubs.
But Southampton boss George Burley, who blooded both Tom Huddlestone and Giles Barnes at Derby, is confident of landing the teenager until January.
The loan market becomes active again in a week's time and Gibbs has become Southampton's number one target.
